\nO velejador do Iate Clube Lago de Itaipu, Andrey Godoy, 14 anos, encerrou no sábado, 19, sua participação no Campeonato Sul americano de Vela classe Optimist, com um excelente resultado: 17º colocado geral (13º Sul-americano). Entre os 16 velejadores brasileiros na competição, Andrey foi o 5º melhor velejador do Brasil.<\/p>\n

O evento foi organizado entre os dias 12 a 19 de abril, pelo Yacht Club Punta Del Este, em Punta Del Este, no Uruguai. Foram disputados 9 regatas (com um descarte do pior resultado) com ventos de 3 a 10 nós, e muita correnteza.<\/p>\n

Participaram do evento 158 velejadores dos países do sul da América e países convidados: Estados Unidos, México, Ilhas Virgens Americanas, Bermudas, Antilhas Holandesas, Republica Dominicana e Canadá, totalizando 15 países.<\/p>\n

Andrey faz parte da equipe de vela do Iate Clube Lago de Itaipu. O Projeto Velejar é Preciso tem o apoio da ITAIPU Binacional, através de convênio, por meio do Programa de Proteção à Criança e do Adolescente (PPCA).<\/p>\n

O velejador possui o apoio do bolsa atleta da Secretaria de Esportes de Foz do Iguaçu e o bolsa atleta da Secretaria do Esporte e do Turismo do Estado do Paraná.<\/p>\n

Os dois próximos campeonatos serão: Campeonato Norte Americano, em Nayarit, no México, nos dias 9 a 16 de julho. E logo na sequencia, Campeonato Sul brasileiro\/Copa Mercosul, em Foz do Iguaçu, nos dias 25 a 27 de julho.<\/p>\n
