Futebol americano em Foz do Iguaçu tem crescido cada vez mais, ganhando novos adeptos<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

A diretoria do Foz do Iguaçu Black Sharks confirmou neste final de semana (16 e 17 de Janeiro) o primeiro jogo temporada  2010. E será o principal jogo na história da equipe iguaçuense. No dia 27 de fevereiro, os Tubarões Negros vão receber o Corinthians Steamrollers, equipe de futebol americano do Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, mostrando que o futebol americano na Terra das Cataratas está cada vez mais forte.<\/p>\n

A partida, que irá premiar o vencedor com o Troféu Vote Cataratas, marca o início das atividades da equipe iguaçuense nesta temporada. O jogo servirá como preparativo dos Black Sharks para o Campeonato Paranaense de Futebol Americano. Em dezembro de 2009, na primeira edição do estadual na modalidade, os Tubarões Negros ficaram com a 3ª colocação. No entanto, para 2010, a equipe promete brigar pelo título.<\/p>\n

E para se preparar de forma adequada para brigar pelo primeiro lugar do estadual, os Black Sharks terão um grande adversário pela frente. Além de vários jogadores da seleção Paulista, o Corinthians Steamrollers, conta com dois atletas da Seleção Brasileira de Futebol Americano. Apesar de o jogo marcar o início das atividades da equipe paulista com equipamentos, o Steamrollers promete jogo duro contra os Tubarões Negros.<\/p>\n

“É uma ótima oportunidade para a gente. Além de podermos medir nossas forças com uma equipe de renome nacional, acreditamos que vamos conseguir levar um bom público novamente nessa partida”, afirmou o presidente, e quarterback da equipe, Marcelo Somer.<\/p>\n

Para Helder Ludwig, um dos destaques da equipe e que, de acordo com especialistas do esporte, deve compor a Seleção Brasileira de Futebol Americano em breve, o jogo contra o Corinthians mostra que o Black Sharks vem conquistando respeito nacionalmente. “Esse reconhecimento em nível de Brasil que estamos conseguindo acontece graças ao prestígio que estamos conquistando primeiramente aqui em Foz do Iguaçu”, afirmou o atleta.<\/p>\n

E para fazer a alegria dos iguaçuenses que aprenderam a amar o esporte, outras novidades vêm por aí. Além do Campeonato Paranaense de Futebol Americano, outras três partidas estão sendo programadas para acontecer em Foz do Iguaçu durante o ano, mostrando que o esporte tende a crescer ainda mais na cidade.<\/p>\n

“A torcida já abraçou a gente. E o apoio deve ser maior ainda se fizermos um bom papel contra o Corinthians. Por isso, vamos nos concentrar e buscar dar ainda mais alegrias para os iguaçuenses”, comentou Somer.<\/p>\n
